E-Commerce market projected to rise from $8bn to $65bn
The government of Indonesia has introduced new rules governing the e-commerce market sellers. The new rules which require the sellers to share data with authorities also stresses that the sellers are required to pay taxes.
The e-commerce industry in the 200 million people populated country, has become a battle ground for foreign investors due to the rising use of smartphones and increase in middle-class earners in the country. Meanwhile the e-commerce market as projected by analysts is expected to rise from its current 8 billion dollars to a whooping 65 billion dollars by 2022.
