Sixth anti-government protest staged by Albanian opposition
Albanian opposition protesters still on their demands for the government's resignation, made attempts to enter into the parliament by force. The protesters in support of the Center-Right Democratic party, clashed with police using projectiles and smoke bombs in their bid to break the cordon protecting the parliament building where the weekly session was held. The police using tear gas, however managed to prevent the protesters who have made several attempts since mid February to break into the parliament building. The opposition accuses the leftist socialist government of Prime Minister Edi Rama of being corrupt, having links to organized crime. These allegations were however, denied by the Edi Rama led government.
