Main opposition leader Atiku inaugurates legal team to contest results describing February 23 election as a charm
Following results of the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria, in which Muhammadu Buhari was declared winner, opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar has decided to challenge the results. The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party's candidate, says he has set up a legal team to challenge the results declared by INEC. The leadership of the PDP had earlier rejected the results of the February 23 polls, which saw President Muhammadu Buhari emerge winner, and returned to serve a second term as Nigeria's president. In his words, Atiku Abubakar, the 2019 presidential candidate of the PDP and former vice-president of Nigeria, the 2019 presidential election was a sham. Meanwhile the incumbent and president elect; Mohammadu Buhari insists that the election as free and fair.
