Candidacy registration began after death of 92-year old former leader
The hopefuls of the Tunisian Presidential polls have begun registration ahead of the September race. The total number of registered candidates for polls have risen to eight since the death of the 92-year old leader, Beji Caid Essebsi.
According to the reports, the eight would-be candidates, include the media magnate, Nabil Karo who has also submitted his papers to the electoral commission of the country.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister, Youssef Chahed has not been confirmed officially as a registered candidate even though his party has confirmed his intentions of running in the race.
