Hossam El Badry takes the mantle to lead the Pharaohs
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has appointed a new coach to head the national team of Egypt. The new appointment came after a meeting held by the body, stating that the sack of the former coach Javier Aguirre was majorly due to the Pharaohs unimaginable defeat by Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the round of 16 at the last African Cup of Nations.
El Badry, 59, who is a former player of one of the home-based teams Al Ahly has also managed Egypt’s under-23 team as head coach. The first competition games of the new head coach will be in November when the team begins their journey to reach the 2021 Nation’s Cup finals in Cameroon.
