The third earthquake in less than a week.
A 2.9 magnitude earthquake has been recorded near the UK’s only active Shale gas site in Lancashire. The quake which is the third to be recorded in less than a week has drawn the attention of even government officials.
In investigating the incident, Cuadrilla said no fracking was being carried out at that time. The Oil and Gas Authority said fracking would all be suspended while it still assessed the seismic activity.
