Both leaders hold talks on major issues including issues with Syria and Ukraine
The President of France, President Emmanuel Macron days before the G7 Summit has hosted his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in a meeting which held at the summer residence of the French President on the southern French coast.
The two world leaders had a range of discussions on several issues majoring on Syria. The French leader requested for a ceasefire to go into northwest Syria, where the Moscow- backed government forces are leading a military offensive against rebels.
The French President stated that it is important for the ceasefire agreed in Sochi to be put into place. It would be recalled that the Sochi agreement was signed in September last year between Russia, President Bashar al Assad of Syria and Turkey, which support rebel groups in the region.
