"An Israeli non-profiting group plans to land spacecraft on the moon in February 2019"
Israel Space Agency, has signed a new agreement with NASA to launch an Israel spacecraft to the moon for the first time in February 2019.
The Director General of Israel Space Agency, Avi Blasberger, stated this on his return from the World peace congress on the 9th of October 2018. The spacecraft which is scheduled to be launched in December 2018, is expected to land on the moon in February 2019.
Morris Khan, a business man and benefactor of the project, said he thinks more should be done for science, mathematics, engineering, and this is just a way to make his contribution, and encourage education in this direction.
The General Manager, Space Division, Israel Aerospace Industry, stated that actually getting into the moon is a huge achievement for a privately runned enterprise and as a result would attract a lot of attention world wide. He also said that more surprises should be expected in the future after the spacecraft manages to land on the moon.
No doubt, Israel is considered to be very advanced in the field of space as the nation, also recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the launch of the first Israeli satellite.
