Churches Mark the Celebration of Hymn Publication in Christendom
Yesterday January 13th marks the anniversary of the publication of what is rightly believed to be the first hymno in Western Christian history in 1501. The singing of hymns dates back to the time Jesus said to his disciples in Matthew 26:30 “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives”. Throughout the centuries that followed many more hymns were put in writing where they play by a great sympathy orchestrates throughout the world or in tiny country churches. As hymns are sung by millions of people each week, it can be said that millions of voices are lifted up into heaven itself. The singing of hymns is like nothing else in the world today most are well over 100 years old yet they remain a vital part of most churches.
