Senate promise to pass 2019 budget as President Buhari decline assent to other bills passed by the national assembly
The Nigerian legislative upper chamber; the Senate, has promised to pass the 2019 budget on the 16th of April. This was announced by the Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki on Tuesday urging all sub-committees of the appropriation committee to submit to their reports by Friday 5th, April. He also mandated the appropriation panel to submit it's report from April 9th to 11th 2019. The Senate president, subsequently adjourned plenary to 9th of April to enable relevant committees complete budget defense sessions with ministry departments and agencies. Meanwhile President Mohammadu Buhari declined assent to the controversial national housing fund bill and seven others passed by the national assembly.
