Mass Protest enters its seventh weekend in the country.
Thousands of protesters in Belarus have continued with protests calling for the resignation of the nation’s leader. The protesters demand for the step down of Alexander Lukanshenko. Protesters allege that Lukanshenko who has been inaugurated to serve his sixth term in office, rigged the last elections which held in August that brought him to power. According to reports, the outcome of the elections has been greatly criticized by the European Union and the United Kingdom, also owing to a fact that the inauguration took place in the nation’s capital without any prior announcement. This has in turn sparked up more protests from the opposition in the country.
