Before his demise he worked tirelessly with governments of different Nations in ensuring peacekeeping
There have been several condolence messages coming from different parts of the world, from governments, parastatals, corporate bodies, and individuals to the Government of Ghana and the United Nations as they both lost an illustrious son in their midst, in the person of Mr. Kofi Atta Anan. Mr. Kofi Anan who served as the seventh Secretary-General to the UN for a two-five-year term (13th December 1996-1st January 2007).
Before his demise he worked tirelessly with governments of different Nations in ensuring peacekeeping which led to his being co-recipient of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize Award alongside the UN. Mr. Anan died at the age of 80 at a hospital in Bern, Switzerland on the 18th of August, 2018.
