Elections held after weeks of protest by voters
Millions of voters in Russia have come out to exercise their franchise in the country’s regional elections. The elections held amidst protest from certain individuals who claim to be opposition in the country. The protest led to one of the biggest crackdowns in dissent years.
According to some of the voters, the municipal elections are usually considered to be unimportant, but this particular one has attracted so much attention and this is majorly because of the way the votes resulted in protests and police crackdown in the regions.
