Sabotage, poor weather and logistics cited by INEC boss as reasons for election postponement
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who gave reasons for the postponement of the general elections in Nigeria to include; sabotage, poor weather and logistics, has further assured Nigerian's of better preparation by the commission to conduct credible polls on the new dates announced. INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu said that sensitive election materials earlier deployed to some polling stations in most states of the federation, have since been retrieved by the commission pending redeployment on the new dates announced. Yakubu further stated that the postponement would afford the commission, the opportunity to address the identified challenges in order to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
